With Oligio XM, do I have to receive both radiofrequency and ultrasound?
They do not have to be done together. Oligio XM is a device that can use both radiofrequency (RF) and focused ultrasound (HIFU), so depending on the area and skin condition, the two can be used together or separately.
What is the basis for choosing Oligio XM instead of Ultherapy or Thermage?
Ultherapy addresses the fascial layer with ultrasound, and Thermage addresses the dermis with radiofrequency. Because Oligio XM uses both types of energy in a single device, it may be recommended when loss of elasticity in the dermis and sagging of the fascial layer are both concerns. The choice is made based on skin thickness, the amount of fat, and where the sagging is.
Does the treatment feel hot or painful?
The sensation varies with the area and settings, so we explain it during your consultation. 13 cooling cycles per shot protect the skin surface, and energy is delivered while temperature and skin resistance (impedance) are checked in real time.
When do the results appear?
Rather than immediately after treatment, results appear gradually over 2–6 months and may vary from person to person. The interval between treatments is decided based on your skin condition and progress.
Won't the treatment make my cheeks look hollow?
We first check the amount of fat in the cheeks, skin thickness, and where the sagging is. When cheek volume needs to be preserved, the method and treatment areas are adjusted to minimize fat reduction. The same settings are not applied to every face.
Are there cases in which I cannot have the treatment?
Treatment is restricted if you have metal or a pacemaker in your body. Treatment is restricted during pregnancy or if there is inflammation, a wound, or a skin condition in the treatment area. Please let us know during your consultation which areas have previously been treated with filler or a thread lift, and when. If the same area was treated, the treatment is performed after 2 months have passed.
Will my skin turn red or swell after treatment?
Temporary redness, warmth, and swelling may occur, and in most cases these improve within a few days. Other side effects may rarely occur; we explain them in detail during your consultation before treatment.
